I have had some requests lately to make my mouthpieces a bit flatter. For some reason since I started making my mouthpieces out of Ebonite I got away from a little technique that I use to use. I once again started using that technique and collectors have noticed a big improvement so I will continue to do this. It makes for a flatter more comfortable mouthpiece. I think you will notice a big difference. A straight Dublin with my new Burgundy stain. I was experimenting with my Burgundy stain and I came up with a version that I really like. I made a piece yesterday with the grey Bakelite so I thought I would try it with the Black Ebonite and I think this is a great color combination. This is a very interesting piece of wood. I really can’t figure it out but it sure looks neat! The rings go straight across one side, then in front straight down the bowl and up the shank and curves around the other side, very interesting to look at to say the least.
