I have had some requests lately to make my mouthpieces a bit flatter. For some reason since I started making my mouthpieces out of Ebonite I got away from a little technique that I use to use. I once again started using that technique and collectors have noticed a big improvement so I will continue to do this. It makes for a flatter more comfortable mouthpiece. I think you will notice a big difference. What a KNOCKOUT, if I do say so my self. This piece of wood is simply stunning with about as close to 360 grain coverage as you can get. I also find it difficult to get this degree of coverage on a shape like this. The walls are constantly turning so it seems very difficult to find a block that will perfectly lend its grain to the shape. This pipe is one of those pieces where I was very fortunate and hit it just right with the shape choice and to top it off it is a natural! Not stain at all so it will color up wonderfully over time and that will really enhance the beautiful graining. I do not make many like this and they are quite rare to say the least.
