Here is a neat piece I would just call a Dublin Sitter with a slight cant. Thick walls and a tapered chamber, a great flake pipe or for those stronger tobaccos. Nice colors and another new Ebonite. All the while making this piece I was trying to come up with a name for the material. I kept thinking sand, no, desert, no, desert camo, no….So I left it to my beautiful wife. When I finished the piece and showed her she was really impressed with the new Ebonite. I didn’t tell her what I was thinking for the name and I asked her what she thought for a name the first thing she said was sand stone! Why didn’t I think of that? So there we have it, Sand Stone Cumberland. It goes very nice with the highlighted brown stain and the smooth top. It is very unique and beautiful with it’s four colors making up the material. Tan, light brown, grey and red. The first pipe produced with Sand Stone Cumberland and noted on the inspection card. Hand cut Sand Stone Cumberland mouthpiece w/Delrin tennon, hand made solid sterling silver “Wide Wavy Dome” fitment. Thank you very much for looking and your consideration of my work.
