Here is a nice sized Dublin in my new Flintwood finish. This is the second Flintwood produced and I can already see some interesting progress. As you can see, this piece has a beautiful rounded smooth top which really adds to the look of this piece. The photos do this piece no justice but the wood reminds me of flint with its highly smooth and polished surfaces. It is a very cool look and it took many hours to get this far in the finish. It is all hand cut with carving tools and it takes several tools and many phases to achieve this finish. I have my head full of ideas for the evolution of Flintwood. The look and feel of this is wonderful and it just has that comfortable smooth texture that feels so good in the hand. Very smooth and rounded with no sharp edges to speak of. As mentioned, this is the Second Flintwood produced and it is marked such on the inspection card. I used a piece of my dwindling supply of Blue Cumberland for the mouthpiece and I think it really looks good with this finish. Hand cut Blue Cumberland mouthpiece w/Delrin tennon, hand made solid sterling silver “Hammer Textured” fitment. Thank you very much for looking.
