What a pipe! This is going to be one of the last few pieces of 2013. Winding down for the year and I am thrilled with this piece, I like everything about it. It is not every day I get a piece of wood like this. It is few and far between I get a piece like this to blast. Not taking the credit for the wood, I just pealed away the layers! It is an awesome blast and all in all a very unique piece. I did something different on this pipe. I got the files out again, hand files that is, not rotary or a dremmel tool. I cut eight evenly spaced flutes running down the outside of the bowl, best visible in the top view. Then for the silverwork I got the files out again and did a double diamond cut that follows the theme of the pipe very well. This is a nice sized pipe light and very comfortable, at least a gp.6. This piece has a longer shank and a bit longer mouthpiece than I have been making on a pipe like this. It all worked out very sell. Hand cut Carmel Ebonite mouthpiece w/Delrin tennon, hand made solid sterling silver “Double Diamond” fitment. Thank you very much for looking.
