What a knockout if I do say so myself! This large Dublin came out very well and I really like everything about it. The slightly rounded smooth top, the awesome Carmel Bakelite and the blast all came together very well and to top it off, it is a very nice sized piece. The shank is smaller in diameter than I normally make which lead to a slight fishtail on the mouthpiece. A very comfortable pipe! I added a extra photo in the first view to show the Bakelite in better detail. I only have a few inches of this material left so do not expect this material as a regular production. I only came across one piece of this material several years ago and I have been using it very sparingly on special pieces. When it is gone, it is gone. I discovered a superior technique than I have been recently doing for thinning my mouthpieces and I am very happy with the thinness and comfort. I will continue to do this to my mouthpieces.
